A Shepherd Textiles exclusive. We wanted to add some color to our lives, but using only the very best grades of fiber available. We worked with a mill in Italy to create a premium blend of 50% ultra-fine merino (14.5 μm) and 50% mulberry silk (13 μm). The resulting roving is soft, luscious, and intensely lustrous. The colorways were inspired by the sights and seasons of the National Capital region. “Cherry Blossoms,” for example, reminds us of the cherry trees that bloom every spring on the National Mall, while “Botanical Gardens” was inspired by the greenery and bright flowers inside the U.S. Botanic Garden. These one-of-a-kind rovings are designed to draft easily and create amazingly soft and beautiful yarns.
